Gurgaon has become the most diverse real estate market in India. This market has got everything, from luxury villas to affordable housing, from ultra-luxurious residences to branded residences, and from standalone towers to massive townships. Many developers have joined this growing market, and we have got a new player, Krisumi Corporation. Krisumi is India’s first Indo-Japanese real estate Venture. This is a 50:50 partnership between the Japanese Sumimoto Corporation and India’s Krishna Group. The name "Krisumi" itself combines the Sanskrit word "Kriya" (creation) with the Japanese word "Sumi" (fine living), symbolizing the blend of two cultures.

Why Gurugram?
When Krisumi entered India, Gurugram was the obvious choice. The city had already established itself as India's corporate hub with world-class infrastructure, multinational companies, and rising demand for premium housing. Krisumi chose Sector 36A, strategically located along the Dwarka Expressway, NH-48, and close to the upcoming Global City development, making it one of the fastest-growing locations in Gurugram.

Krisumi Contribution to Gurgaon
Although Krisumi currently operates primarily on a single development plan, its impact on the city's luxury housing segment has been significant. Krisumi has introduced Japanese design principles in real estate, which has also been an inspiration in some new projects from other developments. Krisumi brought several concepts, such as:
Minimalistic architecture
Functional apartment layouts
Efficient circulation spaces
High-quality engineering
Superior construction detailing
Better natural lighting and ventilation

Krisumi City - An Integrated Township
Krisumi Corporation saw the potential of Sector 36A and planned its integrated township project, the Krisumi City. This address not only has a major connectivity advantage, but also the high property market that the area is going to have with the Global City project neighboring. So far, 4 phases have been launched in this township. These phases are:
Krisumi Waterfall Residences
The first residential phase of Krisumi City, Waterfall Residences, introduced Gurugram buyers to Japanese-inspired luxury living.
Krisumi Waterfall Suites
Building upon the success of Waterfall Residences, Krisumi offered ready-to-move, fully furnished homes with hotel-like amenities.
Krisumi Waterside Residences
The next major launch expanded Krisumi's vision with larger residences, enhanced amenities, green landscapes, and improved community planning.
Krisumi Forest Reserve
The latest phases of Krisumi City, branded as The Forest Reserve, represent the company's move into the ultra-luxury segment. Featuring larger residences, wellness-focused amenities, and extensive green spaces, these phases reflect Krisumi's ambition to create a premium lifestyle destination within the township.
Challenges Faced By Krisumi Corporation
Entering the market in 2019, Krisumi directly faced the major global pandemic of Covid-19. The market experienced a slowdown due to regulatory changes under RERA. Additionally, establishing a new brand in a city dominated by legacy developers required time and consistent execution. However, the company has continued to expand its flagship township, launching new phases as market demand has strengthened.
What The Future Holds?
Krisumi may not yet have the decades-long portfolio of some of India's largest developers, but it has introduced a fresh perspective to Gurugram's luxury real estate market. By blending Japanese precision with Indian sensibilities, the company has created projects that emphasize quality, functionality, and long-term value rather than just visual appeal. While Krisumi currently has a concentrated presence in Gurugram, its success could pave the way for expansion into other major Indian cities over the coming years.
