Haryana Government Clears DLF Proposal ₹140 Cr* for Building a flyover and Underpass in Gurgaon

The government has approved a ₹140 Cr* budget for development by DLF, but this is not for any residential or commercial project; rather, it is an infrastructure development for the city itself. This is not the first time DLF has taken matters into its own hands to develop the necessary infrastructure in the city, but this is the first time where the 100% cost will be borne by DLF itself, and the government approves it. Previously, DLF and the government worked together to develop the Golf Course Road, and now DLF is going to solve one of the major issues of Gurgaon: the traffic choke near Cyber City and Udyog Vihar. DLF Plans to develop a flyover starting near Ambience Mall and ending at Cyber City, and an underpass starting from Moulsari Avenue and ending at NH-48, meeting the traffic towards Delhi. This step was taken because, where the road capacity is for 100 cars, there are 170 cars on average, meaning 70% more traffic, and to ease this, DLF has taken matters into their hands by stating, “It’s all about giving back to the people". 

What Does This Investment Imply?

This investment and development plan by DLF, with the total cost borne by DLF itself, is a statement that is self-explanatory. DLF cares about its people and investors, and where it cannot develop the entire city, it goes as far as it can control. This development can be perceived as DLF only developing the area where its massive project exists, but even so, it is trying to solve an issue that is suffered by the whole city.
