In Gurgaon, every corridor is essential for connectivity, and every corner holds someplace to go to. With each road being jam-packed due to these needs and fast life, underpasses and flyovers are needed to solve this issue. A meeting was held in Chandigarh by the chief minister Saini, along with union minister Rao Inderjit Singh, and state minister Rao Narbir Singh. On Wednesday, Haryana Chief Minister recommended that the entire 14-kilometre stretch of Southern Peripheral road (SPR) from Ghata to Vatika Chowk, and from Vatika Chowk to Clover leaf at NH 48, be constructed as elevated roads with ramps for entry and exits along the entire Delhi-Jaipur Highway.

What is this Elevated Road Plan?

The Elevated SPR has been in talks for a long time, and on Wednesday, Union Minister Rao Inderjeet Singh stated his intentions on the matter. He stated that the Badshahpur Drain runs along the SPR, and this new road should be elevated to prevent any waterlogging. It was decided that tenders will soon be invited for the construction of the elevated highway from NH 48 to Vatika Chowk. A new detailed project report is also being prepared for the elevated road from Vatika Chowk to Ghata Chowk, and the tender process for it will be completed in 3 months.

Why is This Elevated Road Necessary?

The Elevated Road is necessary for several reasons. Here are those:

  • To ease congestion at multiple cross points throughout the Golf Course Extension Road, as well as the Southern Peripheral Road, including cross points like Tulip Chowk, IFC Chowk, Nirvana Country Intersection, and many more.

  • To reduce the time in connecting with the Dwarka Expressway from the Golf Course Road.

  • To reduce accidents and traffic violations happening due to the slow corridor movement.

How Will This Affect the Real Estate Market?

In Gurgaon, Location plays a huge role in real estate. When there is a development in infrastructure, it is marketed as an advantage that you will get when you buy the project. Similarly, this Elevated SPR is being marketed by the projects, including DLF Privana, Signature Global Cloverdale, Tulip Melrose, and many more. The day this project gets underway, it will act as a booster that will increase the property rates in the corridor, showcasing its impact on the real estate market. Once nearing completion, it will again boost the property rates, providing the real estate investors with great returns.

Conclusion

Gurgaon is booming with real estate and infrastructural developments, and this city is not stopping anytime soon. With new projects launching each quarter and major projects like Global City, DLF Cybercity 2 and many more, corridors like Elevated SPR are not just a want; it is a much-needed facility. With the construction still to get underway, this is a high time to invest in this corridor as the property rates are going to rise exponentially once the work gets started.
